An uncommon to fairly common resident.

A species of disturbed areas, brownfield sites, gardens etc where the foodplants grow.

Overwinters as a pupa while adults come to light and to sugar.

Note similar to Dusky Brocade but the kidney mark is characteristically part-filled with dark grey.
